Tours given in a 11 passenger high-top, climate controlled sightseeing van

 

These tours are geared for the leisure travelers that visit our area without coming on a group tour.    We have several departure locations depending on what tour you are reserving.  Upon making a reservation, you will either be emailed or mailed a confirmation.  You may also come to our office should you be in town the day of the tour.

THE HISTORY & HERITAGE TOUR

Available  Monday - Saturday  ~  year around

$39 per person ages 12 and over.     Ages 4 - 11  $3.50  per year of age 

(Ask about adding a meal in an Amish home)

  Group rates available for 10 or more people.

 (Must be 12 years and over for group rate)

 Advanced Reservations necessary.

 

Itinerary:

 

11:30  ~ Arrive at the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center to tour the historical  

               mural, "Behalt".  (You may see the mural after the tour if necessary)

12:30  ~ Depart with the local tour guide.

                    

  •  Tour  will  make 1 - 2  stops at  Amish Artisans' small businesses  along with teaching about the Amish Culture on scenic back roads.  
  •  2:30 P.M. ~ Return to Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center.
  • If you have made reservations to join a group at 5:30 PM for a meal in an Amish home, the directions to the home will be given to you on the tour.

"AMISH HOMES, BUGGIES, DINNER & BACKROAD TOUR" 

  (Includes a Meal in an Amish home)

 

Available  Monday, Wednesday, Friday   ~    April 19 - October 23, 2010   

and April 23 - October 22, 2011

$75 per person-tour & dinner* ages 14 and over. 

       Ages 4 - 13  $5.50 per year of age

$55 per person-tour only ages 14 and over. 

      Ages 4 - 13 $4.00 per year of age

Itinerary:

1:00 P.M ~ Arrive at Yoders Amish Home ~ (6050 State Route 515 .  If coming in from State Route 39, turn North on SR 515 in the village of Walnut Creek.  Continue about 3 miles and Yoders Amish Home is on the right.

If coming in from SR 62 from Winesburg, turn South on SR 515 and Yoders is ahead about 3 miles on the left.

 

                         You will tour the 2 former lived in Amish homes, enjoy a buggy

                         ride and tour the one room school house. Moderate walking and 

                         stair steps.   

3 :00 P.M.  ~  Depart PROMPTLY for the 3 Hour back road tour.

                         Features stops at Amish Artisans' small businesses, detailed 

                         narration on the Amish Culture.  Questions welcome.

 *5:00 p.m. ~  Return to Yoders if no Meal is scheduled

  5:30 p.m. ~   Arrive at the Amish home for the evening Meal.

*7:15 p.m. ~  Return to Yoder’s Amish Home

*Please note that a minimum of 8 total reservations are needed for a meal in an Amish home. In the event that the minimum is not met or you do not desire to have dinner, you will return to Yoder’s at 5:00 p.m.  The total cost of the tour will be $55 per person. In the event we do not meet the minimum of 8 reservations, the meal may be held at an Amish homestead in their church building along with a larger group. Meals will not be canceled unless there are no other options available.

"FUN ON THE FARM"

Available Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday  ~  April 20 - October 23, 2010 and

April 19 - October 22, 2011

$49.00 per person ~ Ages 14 and over.        $3.50 per year of age for ages 3 - 13

                  (Add a meal in an Amish home for an additional $20.00 pp.                         Childrens prices avail.

Advanced reservations necessary

 12:30 pm ~ Arrive at the Farm At Walnut Creek.  

Vouchers are necessary for admission.  Vouchers will be given at our office the day of your tour.

 

This package includes:

  • A Horse drawn wagon ride through a scenic wooded farm with hundreds of exotic animals.  The animals will approach the wagon.  If you wish, you may feed the buffalos, ostrich, Zebras, watusi's giraffes, Elk, Carabou, and many more animals!   
  • Self guided tour of  2 proto-type Amish homes.
  • Gift shop and small bakery on the property.
  • Walk around the many other caged birds, monkeys, etc.

3:30 pm ~ Meet the tour guide at the information booth/gift shop and  depart for the backroad tour.

5:00 ~ Return to the Farm for those not going to the meal.

5:30 ~ * Meal in an Amish home for those who reserved the meal.

 2  HOUR AMISH ARTISANS  BACK ROAD TOUR 

 

Available ~ Thursday, Friday, Saturday  ~  April - November  

 

 Ages 12 & Over ~ $29.00 effective April 2010

Ages 4 - 11 is $2.50 per year of age.

                                                                                     

Itinerary:

Departure Time 10:00 A.M. ~ 12:30 ~  * 3:00 PM  from Holmes County Amish Flea Market.  (Located 1/2 mile East of Berlin on SR 39)

Enjoy a 2 hour back road tour with a  narration on the Amish Culture.  We will visit 1 -  2 Amish artisans.  (Artisans may vary by day)

*A Meal in an Amish home is available on the 3:15 PM Tour with an additional cost of $20 per person.

BLAZIN' THE TRAIL ~ OHIO'S FIRST STATE ROAD TOUR

Available Tuesday and Wednesday ~ Mid April - October 2010 & Mid April - October 2011

Ages 14 and over ~ $59.00         Ages 5 - 13 ~ $4.50 per year of age.

Advanced reservations necessary.

Itinerary:

1:00 PM ~ Arrive at the Victorian House in Millersburg.   It is located on SR 83 North, 1/2 mile from the square in Millersburg, Ohio.

Self-guided tourof the Historic, Victorian Home (featured on HGTV.)  There are 4 stories and many steps.

2:00 PM ~ Meet in the lobby and depart with the tour guide for a scenic tour of Ohio's First State Road called Port Washington Road.  It will take you through beautiful Amish Farmlands.

5:00 PM ~ Return to Millersburg.  You will continue to your light dinner at the Hoitel Millersburg which was once a former Stagecoach Inn.
